UO Evidence Based Practice for Health Science

Course aim

To extend students' knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice, and apply it in the development of recommendations for policy and the provision of care.

Course content

Relationship between knowledge, research and evidence-based practice; principles of evidence based practice; levels of evidence; research terminology; ethics in research and the role of human research ethics committees; National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards; searching databases; critically reviewing literature; research evaluation; research translation into policy and practice.
