UO Numeracy and Problem Solving
Course aim
To develop students as self-sufficient learners of mathematics and increase mathematical confidence while building confidence and a strong foundation in mathematical knowledge for future undergraduate study in a wide range of disciplines.
Course content
Students will learn to reflect on their reactions to mathematics and choose constructive approaches to learning and problem-solving. They will develop and use mathematical language and communication skills to describe, discuss, and critically analyse problems and structure their thinking. Students will deepen their appreciation of mathematics as a creative discipline.
