Course aim

To advance students’ investigative and storytelling skills in any medium to produce in-depth journalism of industry standard.

Course content

Students learn and practise sophisticated reporting techniques designed to build on and advance journalistic practices. This includes complex abilities to seek appropriate information and interpret it from hybrid contexts including data in mass and electronic formats. This course will also examine research methods in journalism scholarship and the journalism practices required for in depth reporting as a form of valid academic research. This course consolidates students' theoretical knowledge and skills in journalism and professional writing, and integrates these skills with their research skills.
