Course aim

To engage students with the frameworks and methodologies associated with implementing digital led business transformation opportunities, and to equip students to undertake value case analysis.

Course content

Transforming business with digital technologies requires the use of different frameworks, approaches, and techniques. We will introduce different methodologies commonly used when implementing digital technologies. Approaches for defining value will be used to assess potential digital transformation opportunities. Examples from Accenture projects and initiatives will be used to demonstrate how the methodologies are used to implement digital opportunities.

  • Examples of where methodologies have been used when deploying digital technologies in business
  • Criteria used to evaluate which methodology to apply

 

Methodologies, Frameworks and Approaches

  • Design Thinking (DT) fundamentals: Approaches-Discover, Describe, Ideate, Prototype, Test, Bring to Life, Retrospective and Reflection, DT tools like affinity clustering, round robin, concept poster etc.
  • Agile fundamentals: Planned and Unplanned Agile approaches, Bundles and Sprints, Scrum, Kanban Metrics, Waterfall vs. Agile, Roles
  • DevOps fundamentals: Optimise, Organise, Empower, Align
  • Value case creation
  • Data driven insights and data visualisation
