Course aim

To apply mechanical principles to the analysis of human movement.

Course content

This course will introduce key measures of human movement. Students will learn about linear and angular kinematics, covering reference planes, axis of rotation, equations for constant acceleration and projectile motion and how to measure joint angular motion during human movement. Students will also learn about linear and angular kinetics, covering laws of motion, moments, levers, momentum, impulse, work, energy, power and how these concepts impact human movement in different settings.
