Course aim

To introduce the principal elements of cyber security from an organisational and technical perspective.

Course content

In this course, students will gain skills and knowledge in the following:
core security principles including confidentiality, integrity and availability (CIA).
roles and responsibilities of a cyber security professional.
principles of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography.
attack models, threat lifecycles, social engineering, malware, denial of service, insider attacks.
Australian Computer Society (ACS) code of conduct.
