Course aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with a general understanding of Enterprise Resourse Planning systems and a conceptual knowledge of Business Process Re-engineering principles by analysing enterprise processes and redesigning them. To provide students with a practical introduction to SAP, how it is used in business, and the benefits of using such a system for an enterprise.

Course content

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Overview
Business functions, processes and data requirements, information systems, enterprise integration, motives for integration, integration methodologies & techniques development of Enterprise Resource Planning systems. 

SAP Functionality 
SAP architecture, SAP components and terminology, SAP application functionality and modules.

Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Process Re-engineering
Competitive advantage from integrated information systems, sustainable competitive advantage. Starting over. Distinction between tasks and processes, role of information technology in business process re-engineering, Business Process Re-engineering guidelines, benefits of Business Process Re-engineering for effective SAP implementation.  

Enterprise Resource Planning Implementation
Implementing, configuring, supporting and enhancing SAP in an enterprise.
