Course aim
To plan, design and conduct experiments effectively and analyse the resulting data to obtain objective conclusions.
Course content
Basic experimental design concepts such as participant recruitment, design validity, statistical significance, inclusion/exclusion criteria, informed consent; hypothesis design and data collection; randomization techniques; common pitfalls in experiments requiring data analysis; how to optimise experimental designs, analysis of experiments using appropriate software.
