Course aim

To explore the theories, concepts and practices around engagement in social roles that promote an individual to transition positively through life phases.

Course content

Students will develop a critical understanding of the discourses around engagement in social roles with a focus on people who are older, vulnerable and/or living with impairment.

Students will evaluate policy and programs addressing healthy ageing and their impact on access to social roles.

Students will explore the research evidence around the impact of engagement in social roles on older people when transitioning across life phases.
