UO Pathophysiology

Course aim
To introduce, in general terms, some of the aberrations which occur in normal tissue structure and function and how they manifest as the signs and symptoms of disease.
Course content
This course will cover several topics that explore the changes to normal tissue structure and function in the human body including: cell degeneration/adaptation; inflammation and repair; Neoplasia; blood dynamics; genetic defects; and environmental disease factors. Pathology of the cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, endocrine and reproductive systems will also be explored.
