Course aim

To understand the general principles of pharmacology including a drug’s action and its application through modification of the pathophysiology of common disorders.

Course content

  • Principles of drug administration in practice.
  • An introduction to the principles of pharmacology including types of drug molecules, drug targets, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, mechanisms of toxicity and interactions
  • An overview of the most important drugs acting on the following body systems: circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, immune, peripheral and central nervous systems, and for the treatment of infection and cancer
