Course aim

Development of a public health project proposal.

Course content

This course is the first of two capstone courses integrating all previously presented content including reviewing available data, defining problems, setting objectives, project planning, report writing, risk assessment, critical reflection, and professional communication.

Prepare and develop an independent research project or practice proposal for a protection, promotion or prevention activity in public health which involves collaboration with a community or industry partner. Students will work through the development process, but will not implement the activity. The project must include: health service planning, project management, ethics in health service management, infrastructure management, , regulatory requirements, professional communication and leadership, cultural safety particularly for Aboriginal peoples.
