Course aim

To develop students' advanced understanding of the classification, description, causes and treatment of major psychological disorders.

Course content

In this course students will develop an advanced understanding of normality and abnormality and will be introduced to the epidemiology, aetiology and treatment of specific psychological disorders (including anxiety disorder, somatoform disorder, mood disorder, substance use disorder, eating disorder, personality disorder, and schizophrenia). Students will also further develop their understanding of the National Practice Standards for the mental health workforce.
