Course aim
The aim of this course is to ensure that students fully understand the engineering of fire and can apply this knowledge in designing, evaluating and constructing buildings.
Course content
Fire mechanics including fire chemistry and fire and smoke behaviour, active and passive fire protection systems, material behaviour and fire testing. Means of escape and occupant behaviour. Fire legislation and performance solutions.
