UO Case Management for Consumer Directed Care in Disability and Aged Care

Course aim

To develop students' ability to critically analyse approaches to Case Management in the human services areas of Disability and Aged Care.

Course content

Students will develop advanced knowledge of the definitions, theories, characteristics and processes of case management, the influences on its historical development and practice models and critical issues and ethical dilemmas in case management. The students will use cognitive and analytic skills to develop their understanding of professional practice, the process of case management and the difference between case management and other service delivery approaches. The focus will be in Disability and Aged Care service sectors.
