Course aim
To develop an understanding of the relationship between diet, nutrition, exercise and health and on completion be able to provide general advice to apparently healthy clients.
Course content
Nutrient sufficiency and planning a healthy diet against dietary guidelines.
The role of macronutrients, micronutrients and dietary fibre for human health including key food sources, fat and use in the body.
Energy concepts including energy balance; weight control; and obesity.
Nutrition and relationships with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
