To provide students with a knowledge of the biochemical basis of biological systems.
Course content
The structure and function of amino acids and proteins in the body. Replication of genetic material and control of gene expression. The production, use and storage of energy in the body. Fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism in health and disease.
