Meet our academics

Elissa Pearson

"Psychology is a fascinating field that helps us better understand ourselves, those we interact with, and the grand challenges in the world.
My work focuses on applying psychological knowledge to conservation issues and exploring how time in nature supports people’s physical and psychological well-being. I undertake applied projects with partners such as Zoos Victoria to boost the public profile and contribute to the conservation of endangered local species.
I am driven by the desire to make a difference through my research and to contribute to the education of the next generation of psychology professionals so you too, can apply the science of psychology across the interesting and diverse careers you choose to pursue."
