In just six months of full-time study, you’ll graduate with a solid understanding of mental health conditions and counselling approaches, paving the way for entry into the first year of a related bachelor degree.

You’ll be introduced to psychology as a science, the physiology of the human nervous system and cerebral cortex, and examine the social, historical, professional and cultural influences on how mental health is perceived and impacted. You’ll explore key theories and approaches to counselling and psychotherapy, and develop valuable communication skills used in cognitive and behavioural counselling.

Build specialised knowledge with an elective focused on connecting and working with nature for mental wellness, professional communication in the health industry, or sociology, and graduate with a well-rounded skills base.
