Course aim
To introduce students to psychological concepts and practices found in counselling, psychotherapy, and human relationships.
Course content
In this course students will be introduced to counselling/psychotherapy theories, concepts and issues, will develop communication skills embedded in a counselling context, and will develop an understanding of psychological concepts related to interpersonal perception and learning. Students will also be provided with an overview of different behavioural and cognitive approaches to counselling examples of counselling theory applied to contemporary social and cultural phenomena.
