Course aim
To familiarise students with the project development process and develop an analytical framework by which each student can make project investment and other early-stage decisions.
Course content
Nature and scope of the project development life cycle. Investment analysis, development feasibility, methods of valuation and analysis of projects. Financial, legal, political, social and physical factors affecting project development. Risk and sensitivity in project investment decisions (financial, environmental etc.). The role of Planning in project development. Briefing and early-stage design.
