UO Digital Mediascapes

Course aim

To examine the historical development of digital technologies and platforms and their impact on storytelling, emphasising their capacity to tell different kinds of stories around the social, cultural and political dimensions of contemporary society.

Course content

This course expands student understanding of media production by considering how aspects of digital media intersects with local and global issues of space, aesthetics, personal, political, cultural and public life. Drawing on interdisciplinary studies, students will experiment with the affordances of digital media to explore the potential for new types of screen-based narratives.
