UO Writing and Editing for Publication

Course aim

To introduce students to the essential skills required for effective editing and writing listed by the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd), the peak Australian body responsible for national accreditation of editors.

Course content

Students will be introduced to common word processing software for editing, learn about editorial style, acquire basic editing techniques, and reinforce their working knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation issues across a range of genres, according to the criteria set out in IPEd’s Australian standards for editing practice,
